Today in our home...

Today was one of those days that I have actually accomplished EVERYTHING on my "to do" list!! I love when that happens!! The only thing left is for me to sit down after church tonight and crochet for a bit. How delightfully restful before bed.

I woke up this morning and immediately started on today's jobs around the house. I washed our sheets and towels as well as our son's sheets and towels. I made a loaf of whole wheat bread. I mopped the kitchen and eating area and then scrubbed the shower walls in the master bathroom. The beds are all made with fresh, clean sheets and ready for sleepy family members tonight. The kitchen floor is gleaming. And the house smells of freshly baked bread. Ahhhh... it sure makes you feel good to get things accomplished, doesn't it?

For lunch today, Mr. U took Elizabeth and I to McDonald's!! I LOOOOOOOOVVVE McDonald's!! Yes, I know most adults will not admit to liking it, much less loving it, but I do. My granddaddy used to take me when I was small. He would buy me two cheeseburgers (after I begged and begged) and he would tell me not to tell my mom- which, of course, I always did anyway. LOL!! I guess my love of McDonald's started with him. What fun memories.

Does Elizabeth eat McDonald's food? Oh no!! I take along some healthy food for her- steamed broccoli and sweet potatoes!! If only *I* ate that healthy!!

I love days when I am able to accomplish 'the list' as you did today - such a feeling of satisfaction and content. Good job! This afternoon we have the joy of watching our own home grown tomatoes simmer into pasta sauce. There will be plenty for tonight's supper and a few meals for the freezer as well! So nice to know that everything in the sauce is either home grown or organic - and healthy too!

Your right~It's a wonderful feeling when you accomplish all the things you set out to do...doesn't happen often enough, but maybe if it did we would enjoy it so much!! Such contentment! I have enjoyed my first visit to your site...love the name of your blog!

haha! If there's one thing I know about Mrs. U, other than the fact that she loves Jesus, she LOVES McDonald's!

You are hilarious, Mrs. U! I'm happy to hear you got everything on your list accomplished! Go you! Or wait, go GOD! hehe!

I agree with you--there's nothing like hittin' the floor running first thing and accomplishing so much. I'm glad you fit in a date, too. :)

Blessings,
Mrs. C

Hello! I came across your sight from Christina. Very nice blog. Good job on getting the to do list done. It does feel good when you are ahead. I so love homemade bread and try to make sometimes. I like it warm and right out of the oven with lots of butter. The best part is when the butter is melting and you get to lick your fingers afterwords. :-) Okay I think I will makes some tomorrow. LOL!

Great job! What a wonderful feeling to get so much accomplished. And a treat to McDonald's too!

I think McDonald's is a perfectly good restaurant. They made "Super Size Me," about a man who gained a lot of weight and so forth after eating there for a month or so. But a response to that movie, in which a woman ate there for a month and actually lost weight, was not nearly as well publicized.

I think it's all about what you decide to order, and how much of it you eat, etc. So don't be ashamed of enjoying McD's!

You have a very nice blog. I wondered how old Elizabeth was and did she mind not getting McDonalds.

Hi Marie!! That movie "Super Size Me" makes me laugh. I haven't seen it, but doesn't EVERYONE know that if you eat fattening food too often you will gain weight and could possibly have health problems? I think this man was just out to get McD's!! How sad!!

Hi Marci!! Elizabeth is only 15 months old. She was too excited us being out and getting to see lots of people!! I know when she gets older, she'll say "Hey now!! I want some french fries, too, mommy!" :)

His,
Mrs. U

Today was one of those days of accomplishment for me, Mrs. U! They are fantastic! I do wish they would come around more often... although, I guess it could be my fault if they don't, LOL! :o)

Oh, such a great feeling to clear off a "to-do" list! :o) I think it's sweet that you associate McD's with special times with your Grandfather. He accomplished what he set out to do ~ make precious memories with his granddaughter! And that is certainly worth a cheeseburger or two. ;o)
