Have you had your quiet time today?

By far, THE most important part of my blessed job as a homemaker is making sure that I spend DAILY time in the Word and in prayer with the Lord. I love my family, I love taking care of my home, but, above all, I love God. Cultivating my relationship with Him has got to be THE top priority of my day.

So, for my fellow Christians reading this, have YOU spent time in the Word today? If so, what is the Lord teaching you?

How true are your words. The best thing we can do for our families is spend time with the Lord.

It absolutely makes a difference. And our families notice, as well. When my son was about 8 years old, I was having a horrible day. My heart was not at peace and my words followed suit. Finally, my son asked me, "Mom, have you done your Bible study today?" Boy, that hit home home really hard! Thanks for sharing your thoughts today.

I'm studying about the life of King David right now. It gives me encouragement to see how he stayed true God, repented of his sin, and had sweet fellowship with Him again.

He is the one in control, not me.
I need to listen.
I need to trust.
There are dear ones that need His touch today.
And from I Timothy 1:15, "The saying is trustworthy and deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost."
Realizing this more each day...

Amen to that.

I like to use Tabletalk magazine from Ligonier to get me started in the mornings. Todays reading was Psalm 150, "Let everything that has breath praise the LORD!" So, I'm learning more about worship.

Thanks for your encouraging comment on my blog today.

I always start my day with a prayer, even when it is short. The day feels just right after I have expressed my gratitude for all I was blessed with. God is so good!

Currently I'm re-reading the book of Proverbs. What a treasure of wisdom.

I definitely agree. Without doing bible study first thing, my day just wouldn't feel right or go right for that matter.

I'm currently reading the one year book of proverbs.

"Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows.

Proverbs 13

Hello Mrs. U----

Thank you for the excellent reminder. We have so many things calling to take our attention away from the Lord. It is easy to get distracted with something that "needs" to be done, rather than what is most important.

The few times, I skip (or delay until much later) my meeting with the Lord results in a very frazzled, disconnected day.

We NEED to talk to Him, to sit quietly in His presence and to read His word.

Mrs. U, yes I have! I try to start my day everyday with my devotional time with God. He is teaching me patience, patience, & more patience...to trust Him above everyone & all else. And it's hard to learn! I'm reading the Bible thru this year too.
