Making a House a Home involves all aspects of homemaking- cooking, cleaning, gardening, learning to be a godly wife and mother, and, above all, following the Lord Jesus Christ in all things.
Congratulations! Having given this up my self a few months ago (haven't hit the 6 month mark) I understand completely what a challenge this was for you. Great work! When I have a craving I remember Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (nkjv)
See I have a real bad Pepsi habit...really bad and it's caused me to put on a lot of weight. :-( I want to stop drinking it but it's so hard. It's like that caffeine keeps you coming back for more. Ugh!!! I know the stuff is unhealthy for various reasons but my brain is like 'must...have...Pepsi'.
I really like ice water as well but don't drink enough of it. :(
How did you break your addiction? Did you have an accountability partner?
I have already did the 'this is it, the last time I am going to drink soda today' thing and it never works....
Hi Dawn!!! I TOTALLY understand the "must... have... Pepsi..." thing. I was the EXACT same way with Diet Coke!! To be very honest, I drank AT LEAST 8 cans a day of the stuff.
After hearing FOR YEARS how bad nutrasweet is for you, I finally decided I had enough. I decided that I wasn't going to buy it anymore and begged my husband not to give in to me when I said I wanted one. He didn't. :)
I was very blessed. I didn't have any problems at all coming off Diet Coke. I can't even remember having a headache. Sure, I craved it, but that just made me all the more resolved to be healthier. Also, I've always loved a cup of tea. Mr. U was so sweet and bought some tea for me to try and I LOVED it (and still do!!). I drink maybe 2 cups a day, so I know I'm not overloading on caffeine.
Other than hot tea, I am drinking only water now. I will get iced tea every once in a while (okay... let's be honest... I get iced tea when I know the restaurant makes REAL SWEET tea.... mmmm.... I'm a Southern girl, you know, and LOVE a glass of really sweet iced tea!!!).
I will pray for you, Dawn. I do know the cravings and I also know the desire to STOP. Please let me know how you are doing with Pepsi!
Rejoicing with you!! The Lord delivered me from Coke last December (9 months ago) after drinking it (almost) my entire life (no joke). What an answer to prayer it was. What a testimony to the Lord it is when He gives us the victory and we give Him the glory!
I just made 7 months myself...I was an addict, and then I found out I was pregnant with my son. It was DIFFICULT but I have not had a sip since then. I know how you feel and I keep you in my prayers!
I am a born again Christian, saved by grace alone. I am happily married to Mr. U. We live in the South where I get to enjoy being his helpmeet and being a mother to our sweet children.

That's great news!!! How is the rest of your diet going? You haven't updated us on how much weight you've lost in a while.
