Update on our evening...
I just HAD to share what we ended up doing tonight. Instead of all of us sitting together but reading our own book silently, Mr. U read aloud to us! What a treat!! He read chapter 1 of "In His Steps" by Charles M. Sheldon and plans to read a chapter or two a night to us until it is finished. Oh, how I LOVE this book!! I first read it about 12 years ago and immediately fell in love with it. The characters seemed like such good friends by the end of the book. The story is oh-so-convicting!! But, I needn't say more. You must read the book. If your library doesn't have a copy, it can usually be found in Christian bookstores. Definitely a must read. Until tonight, I had forgotten just how dear this book was to me!! What joy to rediscover this!
Happy reading!!

I've read this book before, and I agree, it's very good!!! I'm going to put it on my library list so I can re-read it. It's been awhile since I've read it!
I started this book, but didn't finish it. Tsk, tsk.
I have not visited your blog until today, but I am so glad I did. You seem like an amazing and godly woman. I love your ribbon in the top right corner: as for me and my blog...
I appreciate your passion for a tidy home. You are absolutely right that having a clean home makes it so much nicer to relax and enjoy. I know it makes a difference to my family when I do the hard work of cleaning. Everyone seems so much more at ease. I know it's crazy, but reading about your cleaning habits encouraged me to get busy today.
Thanks, Mrs. U!
I have reaad this one before, but it has been a while. My mom used to read aloud to us in the evenings when we were growing up. It's some of our favorite memories. Even when you are old enough to read, there is just something about having the classics read aloud. Even my dad would gather to listen.:-)
That is the first book (outside of the Bible) that my sweet hubby read aloud to our family!! Oh, how I love that book. That started a special time with all of us gathering around listening to him read - he adds so much expression to the reading it keeps all of our attention!
