National Pie Day - January 23, 2009...

Oh y'all! My sister just sent an email to me informing me that next Friday, January 23, is National Pie Day!!!!!! Here are some ideas about celebrating this special day!

Eat pie. Whether you make it yourself, buy it at a supermarket or bakery or order it at a restaurant, eat some pie on National Pie Day. Pie is great with lunch or dinner or as a late-night snack.

Make pie. Bake your favorite homemade pie on National Pie Day.

Share pie. If you make or buy a pie, share it. By its very nature, pie is meant to be eaten with others. Have a pie potluck get-together.

Let's all bake a pie and blog about it next Friday! What fun! Anyone else with me?

Now... how to narrow it down to only ONE pie to bake for that day... hmmmm....

I'll have to make a diabetic-approved apple pie! It's actually very good.

I'm in! I rarely if ever make a pie, so my stepson who is a major pie lover can pick which one I'll make. He loves fruit pies, but the rest of us love cheese pie.

Thanks for sharing, Mrs. U!

This sounds like fun - I'm not great at pie baking, but our children have been begging for butter tarts - that just a little pie, right?

I'd definitely say that a butter tart is a little pie!! YUM!! I hope you share a recipe AND a photo!!!
