Alcohol Substitutions...

We don't drink any kind of alcohol in our home, nor do I cook with it. So what do I do when a recipe I am making calls for 2 tablespoons of sherry or a cup of white wine? Well, I just head over to the awesome page I found on the web entitled "Alcohol Substitutions in Cooking".

Now, it makes cooking much faster! Instead of only using chicken broth to substitute in savory dishes or just completely leaving it out of sweet desserts, I use this most helpful substitution chart!! Yippee!!

Thank you for sharing this, we don't use alcohol either and I find it frustrating when recipes call for it. (o:

Thank you so much for this link! My mother is allergic (there's no better word for it) to alcohol, even a drop makes her really ill. So this is a real help!

How can you be so pious on your blog, yet your profile shows that you are heavily involved in the world? Nort and South? where characters LIVE in Sin? premarital relations?
You need to think about what GOD would want you to allow in your eye-gates, and stop stoning those around you. Look at the person and realize that Jesus said to the woman,..."neither do I condemn you!" God bless you and I pray that you will have GRACE for those around you. Mercy on those "less" than you. And the Peace of The Lord in your heart. THEN you might be able to speak the truth in love. Or as mom said, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all!" May God bless you! And I mean it. I used to be a Pharisee too! There is a way that seems right to a man,
but in the end it leads to death. PROV 14:12

That is a GREAT tip! Thanks because I'm always stumped when I get to that point and either throw out the recipe or make it and it tastes less than good.
Being in the ministry, we don't do the alcohol thing and would hate for the visiting teens to come get something from the frig and see wine and have to explain... "oh, we use that for cooking..." very lame

Pyrotechny has some good words! I think it's funny how people just ignore her. Actually, I think it's sad. Does this cause anyone else to think for themselves?

Dear Anonymous,
I did not comment about Pyro's comment because it made no sense. If you feel such a kindred spirit with her, please go to her blog and befriend her.
