Jennie took more and more of the heavy tasks upon her own shoulders and had no time for the home and children. They were no further on, and life had degenerated into a straining, hopeless struggle.

Hi Mrs. U--Thank you for sharing this story, I booked marked it and will read it in a little bit.

Regarding your comment on my blog---Yes, I remember that we both started blogging at about the same time--and I would have loved to have met you while I was in Georgia:) My husband will be in Georgia for a few days in August, I am staying behind because of the new baby--but all of Kevin's family is out there, so I am sure one day we may be able to meet (I miss Georgia so much)...:)

Have a wonderful weekend.

I have read this before and LOVE it. And it's so very true. This is what is happening in so many homes today: both spouses work, more money is gained, yet their homes and lives are a mess. Thanks for reminding us of that great story, Mrs. U.

I remember our teacher reading that to our group of 17-year-old girls in church. It made me so eager to be a wife and homemaker! I always meant to have a lacy handkerchief framed and displayed somewhere in my home, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Do they even sell lacy hankies anymore?
